As a leader in the sustainable production of leather, Green Hides’ Italian tannery uses closed-loop, low-emission tanning, and all ingredients used in production either are reclaimed, recycled, purified or responsibly disposed. As a product of Italy, Green Hides leathers comply with the strict regulations and directives of the European Union, including environmental normative CE2000/53 and REACH, a comprehensive regulation for chemical substances that aims to protect human and environmental health.
Green Hides’ commitment to human, social and environmental health is global. Our leathers are free of 3TG conflict minerals, and hides are never sourced from deforestation regions. From renewable energy to recycling, daily business practices reflect an awareness and commitment to the company name.
For more than two decades, our tannery has exclusively used solar power, preventing more than 165,000 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions per year. Green Hides also partners with local companies to reclaim tubes for rolling leather, as well as utilizing recycled products for packaging, office supplies and marketing materials.
