Description
White Oak is one of the superior hardwoods of eastern North America. It has an exceptional resistance to wear. The sapwood is tan to light brown and varies in width. The heartwood is resistant to decay and preservative treatment. White oak has longer modulary rays than red oak. This gives it a strong quartersawn figure, for which it is highly renowned. It stains and polishes well. A white oak wood countertop is likely to look great in any kitchen. White Oak is known for its warm, natural hues including light tan, light brown, pale yellow-brown to dark or pale brown.Durata® is Grothouse’s exclusive maintenance-free finish that is food safe, waterproof, durable, and impervious to most household chemicals. Durata® Satin finish is a sheen level of 35. It has an appearance similar to common household furniture and dining tables. Satin sheen is popular for clients desiring a traditional finish without ongoing maintenance. It is an open pore, meaning the finish is applied to leave the wood grain texture visible to the eye and distinguishable to the touch. Max of five samples per order.
