MCM Acoustical's Direct Mounting system is designed to attach ceiling planks directly to ceiling grid / furring channels using MCMA plank clip; Planks weigh between 2 and 4 pounds per square foot, so use heavy-duty C-channels and furring channels; Secure the first plank / starter plank to ceiling substrate; Snap MCMA plank clip @ the grooved edge of the first plank; Screw MCMA plank clips directly to furring channels or other types of substrate like plywood strips; Install the next plank by inserting its tongue edge to the first installed plank groove; Repeat to snap MCMA plank clip @ the grooved edge of the second plank, and so on and so forth; Assembly drawing available in download section
Manufacturer Notes
Like any other architectural natural wood products, all MCM Acoustical products are to be acclimatized inside a controlled interior environment for at least 75 hours before installation. During storage prior to installation, during installation, and after installation the relative humidity level of 35% - 55% and temperature range of 20°-27°C (68°-81°F) must be maintained
The Grooved Planks are Class A fire rated interior wood finish products as per ASTM E84 and CAN/ULC S102 tested in an accredited NVLAP test facility as a finished composite product using Class A components
