Open Structures

Take a peek behind a wealth of materials in constructions that feature cutouts and openings to reveal what lies behind. Wallcoverings from Weitzner created from sculpted organic matter ― such as those made from colored grass pulps squeezed from a tube by skilled artisans ― create a 3D effect when applied to a wall to reveal the underlying paint color. These organic products also function as elegant room dividers, window treatments or the laminated layer in glass. Laser-cut and netted drapery and laser-cut metals also allow light to enter while blocking views. Etched and perforated leathers bring a lightness to the material, which is almost delicate in the case of an etched lace pattern. Creative methods for opening up surfaces spawn opportunities to design in light, airy layers, for a sophisticated organic look.
