IndoTeak Design

“The products we offer are some of the most difficult to procure in the entire world. Our reclaimed teak comes from 100-to-300-year-old structures in remote parts of Indonesia. They are scheduled for demolition, painstakingly deconstructed and, finally, revitalized with love. Our goal is to utilize every aspect of the reclaimed structures, keeping our footprint small while providing jobs to the indigenous people who make our story possible. The result is the finest reclaimed-teak products in the world today.”

—Frank Ragen, owner of IndoTeak Design

When Everything Matters.

One thing that stands out about the creation of our Forest Stewardship Council-certified reclaimed-teak products is our commitment to zero-waste processing. We buy old structures that are scheduled for demolition, and use the largest planks’ top layers (patina) on our flooring. Meanwhile, the core of the planks becomes other products, as the pieces get smaller. Our Cinta tile and our substrate on the engineered flooring come from these pieces. We utilize every piece of lumber, every scrap. We even use the dust to patch holes. Our wood has a unique story that we are committed to and respect.
