ReloadPaper is moving beyond the flat, fragile and disposable. Across furniture, textiles, surfaces and spatial elements, cellulose-based materials are being woven, compressed, lacquered, layered, hardened and moulded into forms expected to hold weight, retain volume, filter light and withstand greater use. What was once associated primarily with packaging, graphics or craft is gaining the physical authority of more established interior materials. The shift is less about disguising paper than utilising its existing properties: long fibres, foldability, absorbency, lightness, tactility and an ability to gain strength through repetition and density.
