Strongly rooted in the heart of the Midwest, generations of our furniture family have been proudly practicing their craft in southern Indiana since 1929. Wherever work and life happen, JSI’s broad offerings of casegoods, seating and tables can meet almost any need.
Our goal is a sustainable partnership between supplier, manufacturer and customer. It is essential for the long-term protection and preservation of our environment for future generations. Since our founding, our focus has been to build a product that will last and not require disposal in a landfill. Our mission is to continually maximize the use of sustainable raw materials and to search for new materials and processes that will not have a negative impact on our environment.
Our efforts to reduce, reuse and recycle are evident throughout our entire manufacturing process. All of our wood is 100% utilized. Any wood that has not been used as a product part is used as an energy source throughout the year or converted to animal bedding for local farmers, among other uses. Fabric scraps are recycled and unused rolls of fabric are inventoried for future use or donated to local charities. Leather scraps are collected and sold to vendors who make wallets, purses and planners. Foam scraps are collected and recycled into carpet padding.
In partnership with LEED, we offer products that are GREENGUARD certified, which can contribute to indoor environmental credit attainment. Other key partnerships include the U.S. Green Building Council, GREENGUARD Environmental Institute and BIFMA. We meet or exceed all OSHA regulations, as well as all applicable Indiana Department of Environmental Management and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency regulations for air emissions, storm water and hazardous waste disposal.
