Linework

Linework, a familiar practice for designers, is making its way into final designs, thanks to manufacturers who create dynamic patterns inspired by drawing and drafting. The technique appears in textiles, tiles, wallcoverings, carpets and decorative resin panels. Meandering lines, carefully ruled lines on graph paper, scribbles and digitally rendered lines appear to be printed or drawn in ink or pencil. In all cases, the look is crisp and energetic and a perfect way to add graphic texture and pattern to a space.
